Appears cooler in the center and warmer on the outside . High contrast can seem a bit grainy to look at but this could be an ice cube or cold glass of beer . Assuming that the imager is set to Farenheit scale .

What do the layers of color mean ? The high contrast pallet assigns a different color and or shade to the various temperature gradients . Not always a smooth blending of shades from one color to another like the other pallets display the temperatures they record . High contrast will often assign a sharply contrasting color to make the gradient stand out. this is what this teaser image is showing , the temperature gradients from the cold to the hot . ( vise versa ,depending on how you look at it )
