Seems like not too many wanted to guess this image…
Answer: Image is of a misaligned belt from a packaging assembly line, which caused pressure on the small roller bearing. Taken by Fluke employee, John Pratten, he noticed an elevated temperature on one of the alignment bearings during a normal scan of this belt drive system. During the initial review, he noticed a slightly elevated temperature on the near side of the belt, which lead him to believe that there might need to be an adjustment to the alignment of the bearing. After further review, however, John realized the elevated temperature turned out to be the bearing itself, and no alignment correction was needed! Thanks to thermal imaging 😉
Stay tuned for next week’s image!
