It is a fuse with a loose connection.

It looks like a bolted fuse with a loose, maybe corroded, connection on the left side.

Looks like a cartridge fuse, but the thermal signature doesn’t make sense to me.

At first look it appears to be a fuse, one end[the left] is nearly as hot as the connecting lug bolt ,suggesting a loose or poor connection causing a heavy draw of current at that end. The fuse maybe suffering damage and should be checked.Aside from the lug bolt the fuse clasp may also be loose on the left side. Also there is some heat reflection in the area and some images at different angles would not hurt.I’M OUT OF IDEAS FOR NOW.

My secound look at this still sugests an electrical system with abnormal heat possibly from a loose or corroded lug bolt and/or fuse clasp , with the heat transfering to the left end of the fuse and dispersing as it travels down the fuse. In a simular way it may be that the fuse end and clasp are corroded and the heat is transfering to the lug bolt!! but I don’t think so.
